The research project proposed by Eunbi Yoon has been selected as a new project for the National Research Foundation of Korea’s “2026 Graduate Student Research Grant Program.”
The selected project, titled “High-Dimensional Nonlinear Data Assimilation Using Score-Based Generative Models: EEG and fMRI-Based Brain State Estimation and Disease Prediction” aims to develop a novel data assimilation method for estimating latent brain states that cannot be directly observed from non-invasive brain signals such as EEG and fMRI.
The study will utilize score-based generative models to effectively estimate complex probability distributions arising from high-dimensional and nonlinear brain dynamics. Building on this approach, the research is expected to be extended toward brain disease state estimation and early prediction.
