Professor Se-Bum Paik, from the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, was appointed Associate Editor of the prestigious journal Science Advances on March 1, 2025.

Science Advances, an open-access online sister journal of Science, is published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and covers impactful research across all scientific disciplines. With an acceptance rate of only 8.2% as of 2024, the journal demands high-level research outcomes and undergoes a rigorous peer-review process.

Professor Paik will contribute to the journal's neuroscience section, playing a key role in the review and editorial process of research papers and helping to disseminate important scientific discoveries to researchers worldwide.

Previously, Professor Paik has served as an Associate Editor and Editorial Board member for various neuroscience journals within the Springer-Nature and Frontiers groups. In 2021, he was appointed a Singularity Professor at KAIST, and since 2024, he has been serving as the President of the Korean Society for Computational Neuroscience (CBrain).
